So this is going to be a great addition to your vehicle because it's going to get all of that cargo out of the inside of your cab and make more room for your passengers. I know a lot of times when I go on vacation to more room inside my car, the better. It just keeps everybody a lot more comfortable on the long trips you may be taking.So this cargo basket is going to measure about 41 and a half inches long by 37 inches wide, and it is going to sit up about four inches. So you'll be able to fit a decent amount of cargo in here. more

This is going to be a great addition to your Subaru, to just clean up a lot of your luggage that you may have inside your cab here, and just leave more room for all of your passengers, and you as well.It is going to be able to work with a lot of different sized bars. We are going to have a fairly easy and tool-free install to get this mounted onto your bars. And we are going to have little guards here that are going to go over those knobs, just slide it out like so. Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2019 Chevrolet Suburban- Video
Adam: Hi everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima OffGrid roof cargo basket on our 2019 Chevrolet Suburban. So, we do have the smaller cargo basket up top, but Yakima does make another OffGrid roof basket that is going to be 62 inches long, but all the same measurements everywhere else. So, this OffGrid is going to be 44 inches long by 40 inches wide and seven inches tall.What sets this cargo basket apart from the others is going to be, we do have some nice bars inside our cargo basket, and that's going to be used for two different things. Some customers use it just to divide their bulky items, just to kind of get it a little bit more organized. more

MaxxTow Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Review - 2019 Chevrolet Suburban- Video
Adam: Hi, everyone, Adam, with etrailer.com today, we're going to be taking a look at the MaxxTow MaxxHaul roof cargo basket on our 2019 Chevrolet Suburban. So the usable space on this cargo basket is going to be 38 and a half inches by 34 and a half inches. And these walls are going to sit up about three and a quarter inches. So this is going to have a steel tubular design with a nice powder-coated finish. So it's going to look good for a while and it's going to resist against rust and corrosion, and that steel does give it that 150 pound weight capacity, but always check your owner's manual to make sure that your vehicle can handle that weight on the roof. It also does come with a front fairing here, which is going to help direct that wind over your cargo, cutting down on some of that drag that you get at high speeds and just making it a lot quieter.So the mounting hardware for this cargo basket does think about your rails and your cargo. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the MaxxTow roof cargo carrier on our 2015 Honda CRV.On our CRV we do have a fixed factory roof rails, so there are fixed, pre-drilled holes in this roof rails of our CRV. And we do need a minimum cross bar spread of 32 inches. With this factory roof rack system, it honestly was perfect. Yakima SkinnyWarrior Extra Long Length Roof Rack Cargo Basket Review- Video
Hey guys, today we're gonna take a look at the Yakima SkinnyWarrior Rooftop Cargo Basket with the extension. Like I said, this is gonna have a 16 inch extension that goes in the middle of our SkinnyWarrior. That's just gonna give us 16 more inches of length on our cargo basket so that we have more storage capacity, for more gear, to get it outside of our vehicle.Now, the baskets gonna mount to the roof rack of our vehicle. Again, allows us to get any of the excess cargo, or any dirty, or soiled gear out of the interior of our vehicle and get it up above our roof so that we can travel with it.Now the unique design of this cargo basket is that it's a lot thinner than your standard cargo baskets, hence the name SkinnyWarrior. Now, it's gonna allow you to get other gear on the other side of your roof rack, like we have a kayak right now, but also bike racks and anything else like that.Now, with anything you put on your roof, you are gonna experience some wind noise and drag. Yakima wants to help you out with that, which is why they included this fairing that's easily removable so that's gonna help deflect that wind over top of your cargo basket. more

Rola Roof Basket Review - 2016 Honda CR-V- Video
So today on our 2016 Honda CRV we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rola Atlas Roof Top Cargo Basket. So I've already got it in place to give you a good idea what it looks like on your CRV.Now, it measures about 56 inches long, 43 1/2 inches wide and it's about four inches deep. You can see here how it features a fairing in the front, what's unique to this basket because it features a fairing it's going to be a little bit quieter. It's going to help redirect that wind around it rather just blowing right through it like most baskets. So, it's going to be quieter on our roof.What's unique to this basic is it features a roof rack system within the inside. You can the crossbar here and then a crossbar in the back, so that way when it's using up your crossbars on your CRV you can still put your accessories like your bike racks or you kayak carriers on the inside while carrying your gear.Now it is a fixed system on the inside so that's going to be about 35 inches, center on center so you'll need to choose accessories that work with that crossbar spread. more

Now a cargo basket, if you're not familiar with it, it works just like a cargo box, the only difference being that it doesn't have an enclosed lid. So everything's gonna be out in the open. So that's something you do want to keep in mind that when you want to load any excess cargo, luggage, anything like that to where you want to create more space in the inside of your vehicle. Today on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna test fit the Rola Atlas Roof Cargo Basket.It's gonna be a great accessory for your truck. It's gonna allow you to get any type of cargo or other gear out of your truck or even out of the bed, and get it up on your roof to create more space in those areas. It'll have a fairing on the front that's integrated into it, that's gonna help cut down on wind noise and drag while you're traveling, even at high speeds. One thing you just wanna keep in mind is that anything you put on your roof, you are gonna have wind noise and you're gonna have more drag. It might hurt your fuel economy, but that fairing is gonna help improve that a lot.Now up top, we're gonna have a ton of space. Today in our 2012 Toyota Forerunner, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rola Atlas Roof Mounted Cargo Basket. So I've already got it in place on our Forerunner just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. In my opinion, I would say it's going to add more of a rugged look to our Forerunner. That tubular design and the sleeve design is going to add to that.It attaches to our roof rack system just like most roof mounted baskets. That spacer goes between our basket and our cross bar and that bottom clamp goes on and then that top portion of the clamp goes on. So it's going to work with your round, square, arrow, elliptical and most factory roof rack systems.Let's go ahead and take a closer look on the inside. more

Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
Today, on our 2019 Subaru Outback wagon, gonna take a look at the Rhino-Rack roof mounted cargo basket. Now, we have the basket installed on the Subaru's roof here to give you a nice idea of how it would look. As you can see, it's made from a nice steel construction that's been powder coated black to help protect it out of the elements. It has a nice, unique look. Also, on the front of the basket features a nice fairing here, and that helps cut down wind noise, and drag.Now, this is a clay-upon 00:00:44 style basket, which as you can see, it works nicely with the Subaru's factory roof rack system, and should work with just about any after market or factory roof rack system. Now, it does come with all the brackets, hardware, and tools needed to install it, so if you're going to be removing, or installing the rack regularly it might take you a few extra minutes over some of the other models available.Now, the basket itself is 47 inches long, 35 inches wide, and about 5 1/2 inches deep. more

Curt Roof Basket Review - 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
Okay, today on our 2013 Subaru Outback wagon, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket. We got the basket installed on the Subaru's roof here, to give you a nice idea how it would look. This particular basket uses a clamp-on style mounting system. It's very easy to use. As you can see, it works great with our Subaru's factory refract system, and it should work with many other aftermarket and factory roof rack systems as well.Now, the way it works, there's four clamps, just simple thumb knobs here. You can tighten those down to secure it to the rack. more

Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2016 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today in our 2016 Jeep Patriot, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Yakima Offgrid Roof Top Cargo Basket, part number Y07138-08.This basket mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle. It allows you to transport any cargo or sports and recreational gear on top of the roof of your vehicle, for any times where your vehicle might be full of other cargo, or family members, or if you have some sports gear that might be too muddy to put on the inside of your vehicle, it'll be nice to transport it up there until you get home and are able to wash it off.We'll go ahead and hop up here and I'll show you a little bit about the inside of it. As you can see, it's mounted down by four rubber-coated steel straps. These straps come up and under our crossbars, and they latch in right there. Once you do that, you just push it over just like that.Now, this is pretty loose right now, so we're gonna bring it back and tighten it down a bit using this blue little knob. We'll just spin it to the right just to tighten it down a bit more, so that way when we clamp it, it's a little bit tighter. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Cadillac XT5- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Cadillac XT5, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Canyon XT rooftop cargo basket, part number TH859XT. This basket has 150 pound carrying capacity and is great for carrying anything from your camping equipment to your sporting goods; anything you want to keep out from the inside up on your roof, and the straps are also sold separately for that.This measures 49 inches long by 40 inches wide, by six inches tall at its highest point, so it has plenty of space to store your goods up on your roof. This also has a built-in fairing, and that coupled with the aerodynamic shape of the basket itself, that's going to help cut down the wind noise and drag while you're driving. So, it's going to be a lot quieter than most of the other baskets on the market. With it installed as it is right now, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between our rear hatch and our basket. As you can see, there's more than enough space between the two.Now, we have it for the most part already installed onto our roof rack here. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Canyon XT cargo basket, part number TH859XT.The Thule Canyon XT solves a lot of problems for your Jeep Wrangler. For one, it's going to free up space on the inside or it's going to make for more things that you can carry with you when you go on your trips. This can be anything from sporting goods equipment to camping gear to even extra luggage that you didn't know you needed.This has several bars and attachment points to hook up your bungee cords or you ratchet straps, whatever it takes to keep your gear and luggage in place, but these can also serve as mounting points for extra lighting systems, whatever you want to do to sup up your Jeep.The basket itself has this nice aerodynamic shape to it, which gives it a nice factory-style look, once you have it installed on your vehicle. Like with anything on your roof, it is going to make some noise while you drive. However, with the Canyon, they do add this bearing up at the front that comes installed with it. Kuat Vagabond X Roof Cargo Basket Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Kuat Vagabond X Roof Cargo Basket and 2-Bike Carrier. Part number is VX201. Now as you can see, the Vagabond X does an excellent job of freeing up space inside your vehicle. By getting items outside onto the roof our vehicle, we're able to free up space inside for either more gear, passengers, or pets.Now, it's also going to have two fork mount skewer blocks to allow you to attach two bikes, as long as they've got the removable front skewer wheel. Really, after getting it mounted up here and loaded, it's really, really secure. There's really no movement or play in the bike side-to-side. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Toyota Corolla, we're gonna be test fitting the Kuat Vagabond X rooftop cargo basket and two bike carrier, part number VX201.This measures 52 inches long by 41 inches wide, so there's plenty of space in the basket itself to store anything from your luggage, your camping gear, to your sporting goods equipment. Of course, at the front here, well you do have two skewer mounts, to carry up to two bikes.This does have a carrying capacity of 160 pounds, but you always wanna double check with your vehicle's manual to go by its weight recommendation when putting stuff on your roof.This does also have an extension piece, but for this particular vehicle, this size seems to be the best for that. It also has a fairing pre-installed at the front here, and that coupled with the aerodynamic shape of the basket itself, that's gonna help cut down wind noise and drag while you drive, and because of its positioning here, you're not gonna have an issue of clearance with our trunk and the basket either.Let's go ahead and show you how this actually installs. It's a very easy installation process. Our first step is you wanna take this plastic piece here, a bracket, that's gonna separate the basket from your roof rack system. Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2018 Hyundai Tucson- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Hyundai Tucson we're going to be test fitting the Rhino Rack roof mounted steel cargo basket, part number RMCB.The Rhino Rack rooftop cargo basket enables to carry your luggage, your sporting goods equipment or your camping gear on the roof of your vehicle and freeing up space inside your Tucson. There's plenty of space to store your gear and the straps do not come with this, although you can purchase them on etrailer.com.With everything installed, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between our hatch and the cargo basket. As you can see here, there's plenty of space.The overall dimensions of the rack are going to be 47 and 3/16 inches long by 35 and 3/8 inches wide by 5 and 1/2 inches deep, and has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights and go by the lower number.The cargo basket has a nice aerodynamic shape to it, plus it has this fairing at the front and that's going to help cut down that noise while you drive. However, when you have a fully loaded cargo basket it more than likely will make some noise while you travel.Right now we have it installed on aero bars but this will also work on square or round elliptical and most factory roof racks. This does have padding at the bottom where it makes contact with the roof rack so it won't get scratched up or anything like that. It's a very simple installation where you have two screws on either side that tighten down and grip it around the roof rack itself.Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof basket, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. more

It does have two fork mounts up at the front, so, you can store your bikes up on the roof of your vehicle as well without having to sacrifice the space that you would need for an additional bike rack.It has a nice aerodynamic shape, and that coupled with the fairing that's installed on the front, that's gonna help cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive, although there still would be some noise eventually. Also, it leave you the option, you can remove this section here and add an extended piece to add more space to your actual cargo basket if you need to. This is sold separately. Curt Roof Basket Review - 2018 Cadillac XT5- Video
Speaker 1: Today, in our 2018 Cadillac XT5, we're gonna be test fitting the Curt Roof-Mounted Cargo Basket, part number C18115. This has a 150 lbs carrying capacity. It measures 41 and a half inches long, by 37 inches wide, by four inches tall.This has plenty of space to store your sporting goods, camping gear, whatever you wanna keep out from inside the vehicle, or just regular luggage when you're going on a travel.It does not come with a strap to tie everything down, you can buy those separately at etrailer.com, and with everything installed as it is, we're not gonna have an issue of clearance between our rear hatch and the cargo basket. As you can see here, there's plenty of space.It's very easy to install. It uses simply a U-bolt and two tie-downs 00:00:50. You wrap it up underneath here, take our metal bracket, put it on top, and we'll take our two turn knobs and install those.Turn it down until it's nice and tight. more

Stallion Roof Basket Review - 2018 Hyundai Tucson- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Hyundai Tuscan, we're going to be test fitting the aluminum mounted cargo basket, part number 288-09200. This roof top cargo basket is great for carrying your luggage, sporting good's equipment, or camping gear on top of your roof, while freeing up space inside your Tuscan. It has plenty of space to store everything, although the straps do not come with it, but you can find these on etrailer.com.And with everything installed like you see it here, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between our hatch and the cargo basket. As you can see, there's plenty of space in between. The cargo basket has plenty of space to work with, with it being 44 inches long, by 39 inches wide, by seven inches tall. And while it doesn't come with the tie downs to strap everything in place, it does have plenty of tie down points with these rails all the way around the cargo basket to secure your gear.And with this, you do want to make sure the crossbar spread, that's the measurement from center to center, is going to at least be between 17-3/4 inches, and 24-3/4 inches. more

As you can see, there's plenty of space in between. There are plenty of tie-down points with all these rails on the cargo basket, however, the straps do come separately, although you can purchase those at etrailer.com.And there's plenty of space to store your luggage up top with dimensions of 41 1/2 inches long by 37 inches wide, 5/4 inches deep. Now you can add an additional 21 inches with the extension that's sold separately.It does have the faring up at the front which will cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive, although with everything loaded up, it will still produce some noise.Right now we have it attached to aero bars, but this will work with square, round, elliptical, and with most factory roof rack systems, as well. more

As you can see, plenty of space in between.The basket itself does have a aerodynamic shape to it, and that, coupled with the fairing that does come installed on it already, that's going to help cut down that wind noise and drag while you drive. Now, once you have everything off, it's going to cut it down even more so. However, once you have bulky items like this, you may still experience some noise.With it fully loaded like you see here, we have a carrying capacity of 150 pounds with the actual carrier itself. However, you always want to go by the vehicle's manufacturer's instructions as to how much weight you can put on your roof and go by the lowest measurement there.And there's plenty of space to store your gear with this having dimension measurements of 49 inches long by 40 inches wide by six inches tall at its highest point, and how this attaches to your roof rack system will have a simple clamp system here with turn knobs to tighten it down into place.Now, while we have this attached to aero bars right now, this will also work with square, round, elliptical and most factory roof rack systems. more
